All for me! :)

Happy am I when I am the CHOSEN one! Wooooooooooooof! :)

Uncle Rick said that I can be independent at my 5th week as I'll be weaned off from mummy Emma, meaning.... *drums roll* I can officially move into my new home!  However, my paranoid Ah Ni & Ah Ne decided to bring me home only at my 7th week (4 April 2012). Hmmm.... they said I'm still very very very very very very young!

Actually, they have forsight! Though I am very cute, there's absolutely no point in rushing to bring me home.  I wouldn't run away!  I'm theirs forever! Haha .  Anyway, they wanted to ensure that I am comfortable in my new environment by spending the maximum number of time with me.  Thank God for the super long weekend break.  (They took 2 days of leave as well)  How nice!  Besides, with the extra time, they were able to make preparations for my BIG ARRIVAL! Blessed am I to know that they care for me when they made countless trips to the library for research, pet shops to buy my necessities & checking out the grooming services, vet & made calls to friends for tips on how to raise a happy & healthy doggie! :)

Thank you Big Sis Catherine, Kitty, Wendy, Sharon, Serene, Chris, Viola & of course Uncle Rick for all your valuable advices to my very FRESH & GREEN Ah Ni & Ah Ne!!!

Love @ First Touch!

WOooF! I will always remember this significant date, 28 Feb 2012, Tuesday because this is the only day in my whole life (irrevisible) where my then slim & small body could rest nicely into my Ah Ni's palm.  Okay, to be candid, I'm now a plump gal!  So it is totally impossible for me to snuggle myself into his palm now!  Argh .... I miss those days but I wouldn't trade food for a slim body. (nom nom nom nom)  Anyway, a signifcant reason as to why this date is so signifcant to me as you may have guessed, it was my 1st encounter with my darling Ah Ni Ni & Ah Ne Ne when they visited West Coast Terrace to check us out!

Although I was only 16 days old, where my eyes were not open, my sense of smell, touch & sound was superb!  It was love at first sense & touch for me towards Ah Ni and Ah Ne. I can remember their voices so clearly.  They commented how cute we were.  I made a few cute sounds to impress them too.  I was carried by Ah Ni at that time and it was definitely a happy moment!  I was pining for Ah Ne to carry me too but she didn't.  Instead she carried my brother [grrr] who also tried to make cute sounds to impress her.  Act cute only! I was sooo upset and jealous at that time. Grrr However, my biggest jealousy wasn't from my brother but my dear mummy Emma. My Ah Ne was totally captivated by my mummy's beauty and grace.  So instead of looking & carrying me, 99.9% of her time was spent playing with mummy!  Well, honestly how can I fault my mum for looking so adorable?

She is definitely cuter than what I am (for now).  How to fight?

They spent at least an hour in Uncle Rick's home & I really love & enjoyed their voices and touch.  I wish they had taken a picture with me but they didn't want to intrude.   I was praying really hard that they would make their decisions in confirming me on the spot but alas I was left to wait. Well, good things are worth waiting for & I am sure, my new family is definitely worth waiting. :)

Not too long a wait, 3 days later, Uncle Rick's HP beeped & YES!!!! That's the news that I was waiting for! 1 March 2012 marks a happy note that I can be with Ah Ni & Ah Ne for my whole lifetime!   Till then 6 weeks later, I'll be forever yours....

Uncle Rick's Love & Care - I love him! :)

WOOooOoof!!! Don't be deceived by my cute face.  I love playing ROUGH with my bros, Oscar and Buddy (which I usually emerged out as the winner).  Uncle Rick is the ONLY ONE that can subdue me! Grrr..... Often, struggled with him. He said I am aggressive and fiesty.  He witnessed moments where I deliberately ram myself against my bros who were sitting down quietly & even recorded a video as evidence of me trashing them out.  What a paparazzi he is!

He was also the one who taught Ah Ni tips on how to discipline me.  For instance, like locking me up in the bomb shelter for 30 minutes, hitting my little paws with newspaper or clamming my mouth for 30 secs just because I whine?  Grrr...

However, I do agree with him on what he always preach that a spoilt dog is not a good dog and I know he is actually training me up to be as elegant doggie just like my mummy Emma. I am grateful and appreciative of Uncle Rick's love for me.  He is a 101% top notch breeder.  Very responsible and caring.  He constantly updates my Ah Ni & Ah Ne about my growth and welfare with pictures.  He allowed me to roam around his beautiful home freely even though I wasn't toilet train.  My cute rounded & healthy body is all attributed by his special dietary plan.  Uncle Rick brought me for my 1st Vacination and Microchip too.  He fed me water, carried and played with me.  I am a well socialised dog. Uncle Rick was very nice to ferry me to my new home. His sweetness and thoughtfulness in preparing a packet of my daily meal, my favourite rag & bone, food dishes, lease & fence (to cage me...Grrrrrrrrrr) along with me to my new home brought tears to my eyes as he wanted me to have the smoothest transition into a new environment.  Thank you Uncle Rick!

I wish I have a picture taken with him... perhaps if he reads this, he can email our pic to Ah Ni & Ah Ne as a cherished keepsake! :)  Meanwhile, his commander voice can be heard in the video clip!

Lastly, I wanna assure Uncle Rick that I will grow up well and healthy.  Most importantly, thank you for being the first person to give me an identity, that is for naming me Betsy... Take care uncle Rick + all at home.

Love, from a grateful pup

12 February 2012, Sunday

On THIS lovely sunday evening, loud sharp piercing wails of woofing & whining could be heard so distinctively at West Coast Terrace.  Yes, that's the date, time and place where both my brothers, Oscar and Buddy and of course yours faithfully, myself Velvet Chan was born.  Wooooooooooof! :)  I'm the one who is the most mascular... try to spot me!

Thank you daddy Prince and mummy Emma for bringing us into this beautiful world! Both of you are so good looking.  Thank you for giving us your good looks and genes!  We aspire to be happy doggies like you one day! :)

A special thank you to my mummy for nursing us so tenderly and patiently.  Feeding us with your milk, our only source of food to keep us alive and healthy.  Thank you for licking our rectum so as to enable us to make our first elimination and thereafter for eating our poo (so smelly & dirty) so as to prevent us from eating or stepping on it.  Thank you for keeping us clean and also for teaching us how to take our first crawl, our first steps, our first walk, our first jump.

Happy Times with my family... I MISS THEM!!!!!!! (whining... whining...whining)

Well, all good things have to come to end one day but HEY!!!! I am secretly loving this ending actually (sounds bitchy? hehe) because this is the start of a BRAND NEW BEGININING and JOURNEY with my new family. I adore my Ah Ni who is handsome, firm but gentle and my Ah Ne who is pretty, sweet and caring. :) I wish my parents good health & love and also my brothers happiness and health at their new family.  Till then, may we meet at the boarding house again!  Woooooooooooooof! :)

Love, Velvet
